Ransomware continues to be one of today’s biggest cyber threats. It infiltrates companies large and small via both targeted attacks that evade security layers, and through unpatched system vulnerability exploits. 

A successful attack causes major disruption and losses whilst incident response and remediation take place.  

Paying the ransom doesn’t guarantee a fast resolution, and doing so often leads to subsequent attacks and demands for payment. 

Moreover, perimeter, endpoint, and data security tools were not designed to see and stop ransomware – and restoring backups across all data and devices can take months to complete. 

Defence 

Our partners at Halcyon have developed a platform built from the ground up to recognise the behaviour of ransomware, stop it in its tracks, and in the unlikely event of a successful breach, will synchronously decrypt all affected data and devices to keep your company running.  

And in the even less likely event that a previously unseen strain of ransomware evades the platform, Halcyon’s Incident Response team will work tirelessly to decrypt your data and devices. 

As Halcyon’s partner in the UK, we at Red Helix see this as the next mainstream cyber security layer amongst things like firewalls, endpoint detection & response, and email security filtering.  

This is due to the need for dedicated protection against growth in ransomware attacks, as well as the UK Government proposing a payment prevention scheme for all ransomware victims to engage with the authorities and report their intention to pay a ransomware demand.
