Huber+Suhner Polatis 576

80% more capacity than any other solution on the market, using just 8RU of rack space.

The Polatis 576 is based on Polatis’ patented DirectLight® optical switching technology – proven in the most challenging defence, data centre and telecom applications. It is also used by network equipment manufacturers and network operators to automate the testing of optical components and network devices.

Ultra-low loss, low power consumption and fast (deterministic) switching speed make our Polatis 576 switch the obvious choice for today’s demanding data switching, lab automation, and cyber surveillance applications.

Key features include:

  • Typical loss: <1.5dB
  • Loss repeatability: ±0.1 dB
  • Typical Switching time: <75ms
  • Data latency through a switch connection: 75ns
  • Support for dark fibre switching and bidirectional operation
  • Protocol and data rate agnostic up to 400Gbps and beyond
  • Eco-friendly with low power consumption
  • Hot swappable power supplies

Remote control is via Ethernet and a web GUI or via SCPI. SNMP and TL1 are also supported.

Multiple applications

Our Polatis 576 provides a robust switching strategy for a wide variety of applications, including:

Automate link protection, instantly provision, and switch data on a mass scale at the touch of a button whilst reducing your energy usage and carbon footprint. And don’t forget, switching at Layer 1 means protocol agnostic, so whether you’re working with 1G or 800G, our Polatis 576 provides a future proof strategy with a low cost of ownership.

Moving live, compressed, and uncompressed video requires low latency and the flexibility to change links at the flick of a switch. Our Polatis 576 provides the low latency, high bandwidth flexibility you need whether you’re in production, studio, or broadcasting from live events.

If you want to unlock efficiency gains in your test labs, our Polatis 576 enables the one-time clean connection of optical test tools and devices on a mass scale. This lets you bring full automation and 24/7/365 remote access to your test labs to accelerate new releases without introducing risk.

When you need to remotely connect and aggregate feeds for cyber monitoring, our protocol agnostic Polatis 576 switch moves with the pace of new network technologies like 5G, 400Gbps and 800Gbps – whilst continuing to deliver feeds from lower speed networks.

Advanced resilience

For extra resilience, our Polatis 576 features a redundant architecture to underpin reliability and availability of the switch. This gives you the option to add field-addressable spare ports to further protect mission critical services.

Want to know more?

Whether your objective is to upgrade resilience, accelerate innovation, or reduce costs, our Polatis 576 provides tomorrow’s capabilities at a fraction of today’s energy usage.
