Faster 100G and 400G Upgrades Now Possible

Few companies will upgrade their entire network to 100G or 400G in one fell swoop. There is usually a period where the network consists of multiple speeds while the upgrade takes place. But this adds security and monitoring complexity, and delay, for today’s demanding networks.

However, the introduction of our Keysight Vision Edge 400P (E400P) enables you to migrate network speeds to 100G / 400G as and when needed, but crucially, it does so cost-effectively which can support faster migrations.

This is largely due to its new Intel programmable silicon chipset that enables certain advanced wire-rate traffic manipulation features that until now were only available from Network Packet Brokers built on FPGA hardware.

These features include:

• Automatic tunneled IP address filtering and load balancing within GRE tunnels and all well-known encapsulation formats
• Header stripping (removing protocol encapsulations) such as GTP, MPLS, VXLAN, GENEVE and ERSPAN to allow data to be sent to probes that don’t understand these headers
• Wire-rate de-duplication to remove duplicate data seen at multiple locations – ensuring tools are not burdened with traffic they don’t need

The E400P also supports other key traffic filtering features such as session-aware load balancing, aggregation, replication, packet trimming/slicing, time stamping, traffic tunnelling and IP/MAC masking.

Able to use both NRZ and PAM4 transceivers, and with 32 ports of 400G in a 1U space which can be broken out into 128 x100G ports, 256 x 50G ports, 64 x 40G ports, 256 x 25G ports or even 256 x 10G, the E400P is a versatile, compact (1RU) rack unit that enables fast and cost-effective network upgrades.
